"Mentoring just hits different."  - We've heard it said countless times when men cross over from men's work to working with young men.      

 

We believe that at some point on every man's journey of becoming the man he wants to be, that it's a biological imperative that he mentors another man who is earlier on his journey.  What we mean by this is that it's innate, naturally satisfying at the deepest levels and that there's a deep pull to do it.  We all innately know how to mentor, we may have just picked up some bad habits along the way.  The Volunteer Mentorship Training is the first step to decommissioning those bad habits and learning to authentically embody a new way of being as a man.      

In this 2-day, six-hour training you will learn the basics of philosophy and practice that we prioritize in Sonz Youth.  You will also be supported to explore and process some of your own old personal experiences as a young man with mentors, parents, role models and look objectively at the messages and habits you've internalized along the way.
